Acer rubrum, commonly known as red maple, is one of the most widespread deciduous trees in eastern and central North America. Found from Canada to Florida and as far west as Texas, it thrives in diverse habitats. Its size varies, but mature trees typically reach up to 30 meters (100 ft). Known for its vivid scarlet fall foliage, the tree also features red-tinted flowers, twigs, and seeds. Leaf shapes are often quite variable.
